Sphinx Colibri

Pascale had an extraordinary meeting with a fairytale like creature. :)
Just take a look at how it inspired some beautiful art...

Hello Sweeties.
The funny animal in the photo isn’t a hummingbird as you might think, but a moth, called a Hummingbird Sphinx.

It's quite impressive because it's 5-6 cm long and almost 2cm wide.
If it wasn't for the antenna, you could easily think it's a hummingbird, except there are no hummingbirds in France.
I couldn't resist creating a layout about this beautiful and unusual creature. :)

For my layout I chose papers from 7 Dots Studio Cold Country collection. To make my background, I added some White Crackle Paste with a stencil to give some texture.
When dry, I colored the area under and around my photo with Twinkling H2Os in the same colors as the photo.
To add some depth, I stamped with two colors: grey (Archival Ink) and black (Gesso), and to finish - I added some splatters of Black Gesso.

The letters of the title were made of two layers of cardstock coated with some White Crackle Paste and colored with the Twinkling paint. To bring the title out, I added some shadowing with black and white Gelatos.

To color the flowers the same shades as the ones in the photo, I used pigments in spray (Primary Element + water).
I colored the leaves die cut from the same paper collection with green Twinkling to help them to stand out.
