Steampunk Santa by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! Are you excited for Christmas yet?

We all know that Santa and his elves are busy working away at the North Pole but did you know that Steampunk Santa is also busy in his workshop at this time of year? He and his elves spend all day making cogs and gears for marvellous mechanical gadgets and gizmos, and of course, they have their very own Christmassy steampunk workshop!

I knew I wanted to do something special with the metal birdhouse frame and what better than to go all out Christmas with it! The Rusty Pipeline mould is fantastic for creating various sizes of pipes and it was great fun fitting all the different bits and pieces together to create a candy cane pipeline.

I wanted a lot of texture on the project so I used a combination of Powder Blue texture paste from the Northern Lights Fantasy set, mini art stones and mica flakes, and lots and lots of dry brushing with white gesso to create the snowy effect. Unicorn paste is great for giving that extra glistening snowy sparkle on areas over the project.

I have a video for you

If you'd like to create your own  Steampunk Santa workshop! Unfortunately the video cuts off before I decorated the base of the workshop but all you need to recreate this is some plain cloth like an old piece of linen or cheesecloth, lightly coat it with Soft Matte gel then mould onto the base until you've created a nice snowy mound. Finish by spreading some snowflake paste over the surface to even it out and get some additional winter sparkle, and then decorate with some fun festive pieces!

I hope this inspires you to create your own winter wonderland project and I'd love to see the results :)

Words you need by Nadya Drozdova

Hello everyone! Here is Nadya Drozdova sharing with you my project. I was inspired by this vintage picture that I found in Finnabair`s kit "Words you need". There are a lot of lovely photos and nice and motivating quotes for every occasion and mood.

I made my project a little bit vintage, bit light and tender, added a few old brushes and tube from paints. I used some paints and waxes from Finnabair, flowers by Prima marketing and Dusty attic chipboard.

How I mixed it all together you may find in my video tutorial that I prepared for you. I wish you happy crafting!

Reunion by Arantzazu Sangrador

Happy New Year to everyone!!!!
2019 has started !!! I hope it will be a very creative year for everyone!
Today I want to share with you a new project inspired by this time of a year...

I imagine that all of you or almost all of you have spent Christmas with your families at home!
And that has been the main theme of this canvas, the family reunions!

The truth is that I have been composing this canvas layer by layer...

The first thing was to adhere all the metallic pieces. Then I added texture with paper texture paste and a stencil and to add even more I applied a bit of sand texture paste.

I covered everything with black gesso and I used the rusty texture paste to give it another touch, more grungy. Some finishing touches with snowflake paste and wax and that´s all!

hope you like it! have a nice day!!!
