Altered brush by Marta Piekarczyk

Today I would like to show you my new project. I love to alter old objects and to give them totally new look. Lately I have found a few old brushes at home - I cannot use them for painting anymore, yet it was a pity to throw them away. So I decided to create mixed-media off the page project.

At first I glued down using hot glue gun all metallic embellishments - vintage clock parts, cogs, ratchets, chain and beautiful element created with Paper Clay and a mould. Next step was to cover everything with white gesso. Than I started to add colors - Art Alchemy Acrylic Paints, Color Bloom mists, microbeads etc.

When everything dried completely, I have added some accents using white gesso.

Shimmering mechanism by Marta Piekarczyk

I really like to work with media and I have prepared mixed-media project, that I wold like to show you today.

At the beginning I have composed all the elements, so they fit into the frame and glued all the elements using hot glue. The next step was to cover all the elements with white gesso.

I  have added a few colors to my project. I have used great metallic acrylic paints -  Art Alchemy.

First I applied the color pink, green and gold. When the paint dried, I applied darker colors, to give the frame some depth and shadows.

Black sugar is great product to accent the edges. I would recommend also Art Alchemy metallic paints - they give great coverage, and they are very efficient.
