Door hangers by Anastasia Korvyakova

Hello mixed media friends! Today I want to show you how different works, with different mood you can create using acrylic paints, texture pastes and waxes in different combinations.

I created two door hangers and named the first “Do Not Disturb!” and the second “Welcome!”. I think you see which one is which))

I like experiments and for first tag I mixed Impasto paint Mint with Metallique paint Rustic Brown. It's amazing how interesting tones you can get using only these two colours! For more dark and unwelcoming mood I added pastes with rust effects - Brown and Red. I didn't make the door and closed the facade of the 1st floor with an imitation of iron rusty sheets. I used wax Old Silver with a little bit of wax Vintage Gold to highlight some areas.

To color up the 2nd tag I mixed two Metallique acrylic paints - Deep Waters and Red Wine with texture paste - Violet rust effect paste. I mixed them right on a surface of my base. For highlighting I used wax Firebird with a little bit of Vintage Gold wax.
To embellish both door hangers I used metal embellishments from different sets and moulds from  "Stars and moons".

I really like how they look together and individually. I think that they can be hung near to the front door and will hung on the door handle depending on the mood))

Wish you inspiration and interesting experiments!

Four winds ATC series by Anastasia Korvyakova

Hello mixed media lovers! Anastasia here and today my inspiration for you is ATC series "Four winds".

I created background using my favorite stencil "Swirly flowers" and Paper Texture Paste which gives flat texture. For creating composition I used moulds "Anabelle", metal embellishments from several sets, cut out stamps, art ingredients etc. I painted everything with different acrylic paints and  applied metallique waxes, layering them until I got result what I needed. I wanted to show colours and nuances, that every wind might have.

I decided to present each wind as a fairy tale character and reflect the features of each of them. In this way the East Wind turned out to be a feminine, floral and a bit mysterious creature.

The North Wind is cold, often harsh and prickly, but sometimes it lights the stars and fulfills desires.

The South Wind is golden, with a rustling of leaves and wings of butterflies, invigorating early in the morning and covering everything with heat in the afternoon.

The West Wind is changeable, it's a wind of travel and adventure, which makes you move.

July 2019 challenge

We are in a middle of sunny summer. There are more lazy days. More opportunities to spend evenings and even nights out. Beautiful, romantic sunsets, flowers on the meadows, windy coastal weather, big waves, sunny beaches. Even at home the mood is lighter, everyone acts slower and finds more time to relax over a cup of tea or iced coffee. The colours are more intense and the temperature is higher. Our current moodboard reflects all above and we hope will inspire you to create something close to your heart and soul.

Our design team created projects inspired by our moodboard:

Hello mixed media friends! This month we have this gorgeous, bright and colorful moodboard! I was inspired to create this Frame and looking forward to see the projects you will create!

The back center of the frame and the center of the chipboard clock were cut from the gorgeous Dreamer papers collection by 7dots studio, and the Bug from Sticky Notes - Lost and found collection also by 7 dots studio.

The frame was primed with white heavy gesso. When everything dried, I added texture with mini art stones and gel medium and white crackle paste. The source of the colors are Alcohol inks. Chipboard and resin elements were coloured with Art Alchemy Metallique paints. (all products listed below)

I hope you like it and you feel inspired to join our challenge!

Hi friends! Our new moodboard inspired me with wonderful colours and big plants, and I created mixed media banner about part of garden.

To create a background I used Liquid Acrylics - Umbra and Deep Turquoise. These products have become my favorite ones since I tried them.
Also I used unusual combination, it's wax Aged Brass and Blue mica powder. It was very interesting experiment.

To create this composition, I used metal embellishments from different sets, cut pictures of stamps and pieces of resist canvas. All paper details I cut from 7 Dots Studio paper - Paint Chips and highlighted some places on them using distress ink.

I prepared video tutorial and hope it will be interesting for you!

I wish you inspiration and see you soon!

Hello everyone! Our board this month inspired me to create a kitchen box. I borrowed the design idea from Anna Dabrowska (Сanvas "The ARTifact"). I took an old spoon, like the ones on the picture, added drops of different sizes to them and created a ray effect.
