Vintage love

Did you miss Riikka's scrapbook pages?
We surely did miss them!
Our talented girl is back to you with another outstanding layout. Sensational composition, vintage and masculine feeling.
Check this out!

Hi there mixed media fans!
I hadn’t done a layout for a long time for Mixed Media Place so I decided that now was the right time and made one! And this one comes with a video, too. Hope you like it!

The topic of the page is vintage love. The photo is taken inside an old smithy near our summer house. The light switch and the plug in were really inspiring looking so I took a photo of them. There’s something captivating about that raw plank wall and the stained, dusty switches. I tried to mimic the feeling in my page and used neutral tones in here but added a touch of bling with the metallic acrylic paint.

I chose the embellishments to go along the electrical theme and used a piece of wire underneath the photo layers. It tries to mimic the old wirings, being fabric covered and everything. I also added a small light bulb and some Mechanicals to the page to keep that industrial feeling.

Underneath you can see how the page came alive! Thank you for stopping by today, wising you a great evening!

Love for Rome

Sometimes all you need is the right balance.
This scrapbook page is perfect in it's simplicity. You don't need many art tools, embellishments and colours to create outstnding work of art. Take a look at this beauty from Marianne!

I have loads of photos from our trip to Rome earlier this year and here I have a layout with one of the photos.
A place called Largo di Torre Argentina. This is supposed to be the remains of Pompey’s Theatre and today it’s a shelter for all the “homeless” cats in Rome. I believe I read that about 150 cats lived there.

I fell totally in love with Rome and will for sure go back sometime. In fact, I think I want to get old in Rome!

As I made this photo in black/white I wanted to keep the layout in the same colortones. (I love this combo)
So lots of white Gesso and white Ecoline watercolor on the layout.

The chippies are colored with gesso and some white Ecoline to get it real real white. I also used gesso with the text-stamp.

Had some fun with Black gelato on the pattern paper from 7Dots Studio Nature walk collection. I marked the lines in the “wood” to get an extra effect. Hope you can see it.

Hope you liked my love for Rome!
