Summer has gone, days are getting shorter and that means almost time for Halloween. To go with that theme I made a journal in dark tones with Finnabairs moulds, liquid acrylics, waxes and soft mat gel.

Today my inspiration is a canvas with vintage photography.

On the background is a pattern made with a stencil and texture paste.

Liquid paints and waxes are the basis of my work.

Rainbow canvas by Joanna Szczurowska

I like rainbows. Who doesn't? Simple shape, beautiful colours, mystery and luck.

This time I decided to use this motif on canvas. But in my own way :) I covered the elements from the moulds (light bulbs and bottles) with black gesso. I wanted to add texture to the canva and for this purpose, I covered it with Paper Paste. 

I glued the bulbs and bottles to the paste. I coloured canvas and casts like a rainbow using liquid acrylic. I diluted the paint with water. Finally, I covered the casts with waxes. You can watch the video tutorial:
