The Gypsy by Louise Crosbie

This month, I’m sharing an art journal spread as my design team project.

With a good journal or a well-prepared journal, you can use a lot of mixed media techniques and supplies.

If the paper in your book or journal isn’t really mixed media paper you can use gesso to prepare it before starting.

I’ve used lots of layers in this project. Some layers got covered up some didn’t but each layer inspired my “next move” so even those I can no longer see are playing their part in the final look.

I did a coat of clear gesso first to prepare my page before started my journaling. I added some Finnabair tissue paper which I glued on using gel medium. Then I added texture through a stencil.

Next, I started adding my paint. when it was dry I added torn old paper and book pages along with some butterflies cut from paper napkins.

I’ve used liquid acrylics, rust paste, waxes, Sparks paint (along with a few images and embellishments).

Here’s a closeup of that lovely stencil texture.

Optimistic art journal page by Asia Szczurowska

Hello, everyone😊

This is my first post as DT member, so, I’d like to tell you that I’m really glad to be here😊. I hope that my projects will inspired you.

As my first project I created an art journal page. I’m choosing this form when I’d like to say something important for me. With this page I’d like to tell you how happy I was when I received a message that I’m a part od MMP DT. Remember dreams can came true 😊

I used impasto paints to create the background, and some other stuff. If you are interesting how this page was created, please watch this video tutorial.

Love the earth by Inna Bronikova

Hello, friends!
What media product do you use more often than others?
I use White Gesso more often than other products.

So, first I covered canvas with White Gesso, then I used Modeling Paste and an Iris Tapestry stencil to create the texture.

For substrates, I took 7 Dots Studio paper from various collections and Elements Stickers.
Using 3D Gloss Gel I bound all layers and decor.

A little stamping with StazOn, a little bit of wax and the canvas is ready.
