A storage cabinet by Marietta Tegi

Hello Everyone!

This time I made a storage cabinet made of thinner MDF boards that can hide many treasures. ;)

I smeared all the elements with white gesso before assembling, then stencilled the outer sides.

I sprinkled Lindy’s embossing powder on it.

The interior sides am I painted with Jade impasto paint, while the cabinet door and drawer are painted Dark Chocolate.

Where I used embossing powder, I used a dry brush to apply Dark Chocolate impasto matte paint.

To tell you the truth, I made a mistake because the surface was a bit thick, because I put paint on it. So I had to file the places where I glued it together.

So a word of advice! Before you start painting, glue it together! I will not make that mistake next time. :)

I thought I'd spice up the sides of the drawer a bit, so I put rice paper on it. 😊

Then I put only minimal mould elements on it.  I used the following paints: Raven black,Chest of gold and Orchre.

I applied Antiquing Mahagony wax for more characterful outlines.

Have a nice day!

Marietta

Steampunk style tag by Marietta Tegi

Hello Everyone!

Today I brought a steampunk-style tag using my favourite colours.

I smeared the MDF base with white gesso, then stencilled it with paper texture paste and some crackle paste.

I used Jade Impasto paint on the edges and then applied liquid acrylic paints.

I also used jade impasto on the gears mould elements, while the framed were painted true yellow liquid acrylic and ancient coin metallique.

I put silver metallic flakes on the skull, then added some minimal burnt sienna, once I wiped it off in a few places to make it more rustic.

I used liquid acrylic paints for both the bird mould element and the chipboards. First ink black, which I lightened up with water, then burnt sienna. I love this combination. 😊

Finally, I used waxes and granular decorative elements.

Love:
Marietta

Idea vs realization by Julia Chorna

Hi all! I hope you had a good time for the New Year and Christmas! Today I'm showing you my tag, which was supposed to be completely different, but my idea is always radically different from the realization.

I confess - I was in a hurry because I didn't make it on time. Now I look at it and realize I would add a lot more.

But even so, I like my art.

And you?
