Believe by Lanette Erickson

Hello All, You Amazing Creative People!

Have you seen the Latest Mixed Media Place Challenge?  It is pure Traditional Christmas, lots of green and red with just a touch of good country life!

With the mood board challenge still running (Until December 22nd) I decided to use it for my project inspiration this month.

For this project I started with an MDF Star Base and added a layer of metallique paint with a thick layer of clear crackle paste, I just love the look of crackle paste! After that, my project came together quickly! If you would like to see how this Star came together you can check out my process over on my YouTube channel:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you in some small way to spend some creative time in your art space and create something pretty.

Until next time, Hugs & Have fun creating!

Lanette

Guest designer: Svetlana Keseyan

My name is Svetlana; I am Armenian living in the USA. I began pursuing my love and passion for creative projects about 6 years ago.

I started by making baby scrapbook albums. After doing that for a couple of years, I took about a year and a half break to further my knowledge in the industry. For the past couple of years, I have indulged myself into mixed media and quickly fell in love with it. I look forward to continuing my journey in the mixed media world by learning from my peers, taking educational classes, and not being afraid to try new things.

The dictionary defines a woman as "an adult female human being". The true definition of a woman, though, is "Beautiful, wise, goal oriented, strong, and harmonious by nature". She who can do it all: a woman.

Thank you,

Svetlana Keseyan

Octo-cat-us, mixedmedia art by Asia Szczurowska

I like fantasy. Books, movies, series, comics - everything. As a fictional (unfortunately) character said "How I love magic".

Today I was incarnated in a mad scientist who created a robotic hybrid. This hybrid is a combination of a cat and an octopus. The octopus has a smooth texture, so I applied a pattern to it through the stencil. I filled free spaces with an embossing powder. I covered everything with black gesso and coloured with metallic paints. I also used liquid acrylics (to create depth) and waxes.
