Adrijana - November Guest Designer

Our November Guest Designer is Adrijana Knez, who won our previous challenge. She prepared beautiful festive projects, that were inspired by our current moodboard. Meet Adrijana.

Hello creative souls!

My name is Adrijana (Jana) aka Paper Beauty AK. I’m 45 years old and I live with my family in a small European country – Slovenia. I’m married to a graphic designer and we have three beautiful children. We love nature ... mountains, sea, forest and animals. And I love gardening.
I've dabbled in a variety of crafts, and my true passion has always been card making: book cards & exploding boxes... until recently (2 years ago) when I discovered the world of mixed media! Now I just can't stop myself from making a mess!

Thank you so much to the Mixed Media Place team and dear Tusia for inviting me to spend the day with them. I’m thrilled and honoured to be here with such a talented group of artists.

And here is my GDT project for Moodboard Challenge:

I was very happy when I saw the Moodboard - it’s very beautiful, because I love nature, animals and natural materials. I was inspired by the colors: black, brown, gold of the nature and blue colors of butterfly wings and water. Because I really love 3D projects, I decided to create a tree baubles. Christmas ball is like a rain drop in which I caught a delicate snowflake. I hope I could inspire you in some way.

Altered glass vase by Martina Stoycheva

Hello crafty friends!
I was having  this simple glass vase for a very long time and wanted to alter it.
So the time has come.

I wanted the base color to be grey, so I mixed white and black gesso to achieve this.

Then I added brighter color: Art Alchemy Metallique paint Pure Sunshine and some metallique highlight using two waxes – Brushed Iron and Old Silver.

The final effect was simple but beautiful and neutral home décor vase.

I hope I inspired you a bit.

Wishing you lots of inspiration!!
Hugs
Martina

Vintage cover by Anat Weksler

Hello mixed media friends!

Anat here. I love vintage and today I want to show you the my vintage project.

I altered Prima-Finnabair Mixed Media Journal's cover.

To make the look more vintage I used 2 gorgeous new Prima-Finnabair Stencils, some Metalic Waxes, Metal Heart Locket Pendant with my grandmother's Picture and Fabric lace from my Stash.

I made a video to inspire you with the process:
