Elena Martynova - October Guest Designer

We are very happy to show you today a project by our Guest Designer - talented Elena Martynova. This month mood board inspired her to create fairy-tale like project, that reminds the childhood of her own children to her.

Hello !

My name is Elena Martynova and I live in Russia. Astrakhan. I have two kids aged 19 and 14. They are the most beautiful of my creations!
For me scrapbooking is a journey full of surprises and adventures! Four years ago I became a scrapbooker and my passion started growing. I like to work in various styles, but my favorite is mixed media. I really love making art-journal pages, layouts and altered-art.
Welcome to my blog
I’m so excited to share  my project as Guest Designer!

When I saw a picture on the moodboard with a children's room, I immediately remembered the time when my children were small and every night before going to bed I read them fairy tales. They especially loved fairy tales about magic, fairies and miracles. Such pleasant memories! So I decided to make a canvas, which could be an illustration to a fairy tale.

After I decided on the theme of the work, I decided to choose a palette. The picture from the lower left corner of the moodboard seemed to be ideal for a combination of colors! So first I covered my homemade canvas with two layers of  Art Basics - Heavy Gesso-Black.

To create the texture I used Modeling Paste and Micro Beads.

Then I proceeded with colors! Lindy's Sprays shine perfectly also on a black background. I added metallic Art Alchemy paints from Finnabair: Art Alchemy-Sparks-Magical Pond, Art Alchemy-Sparks-Unicorn's Hair, Art Alchemy-Metallique-Vintage Rose.

To highlight the volume of details and give them a little bit shine I used Art Alchemy - Metallique Wax - White Gold. I really like the effect!

Wonderful fairy girls is a chipboard from 2Crafty Chipboard. I added colours to it with sprays and covered wings with Crackle Accents from Ranger.

I added also a few paper-cut flowers and watches from the Dreamland collection by ABStudio.

For accents I used my favorite toppings from Finnabair: Art stones and white glitter from the set of Art Ingredients-Glitter Set-Abloom. It is simply fabulous and gives an incredible Shine to the work!

I am honored to be a guest designer of one of my favorite blogs! Thanks once again for the invitation!

I hope I inspired you!
Elena
