We are thrilled to have Kavi Tha as a Guest Designer again (first time - December 2016). This time she created stunning, magical project made of real twigs and branches as well as scrapbooking supplies. Take a look how she enchanted ordinary wooden elements with glitter and Art Alchemy Paints to create fairy-tale scene. Enjoy!
Hello everyone, I am Kavitha from India.A freelance artist, designer, instructor, entrepreneur and much more which changes from time to time, lol.I easily get bored doing same kind of work and love to try new things all the time:).I started my art journey as a fine arts student, but have been into lots of other crafts like making murals, sculptures, fabric art etc.My first love is always paintings, and i am glad i found my passion back in the form of mixed media art where i can combine all things i have tried and learned so far and create my own style.I am so excited and honored to be guest designing for "Mixed media place" today, thank you for the team for this opportunity.
Hello everyone, i am so excited and happy to be back as guest designer in my favorite mixed media blog. The mood board is so inspiring and magical in beautiful earthy tones.I made a magical forest scene with lots of whimsical embellishments and glitters. The whole theme is about angels playing in the woods surrounded by beautiful tree, flowers, butterflies and dragonflies.
I altered a wooden base, created wooden texture with stencils and modelling paste and colored it with art alchemy paints and waxes.. Then i added some natural twigs and branches as base of my composition, and glue down some moss to create layers and textures.
Next i randomly applied gel medium and sprinkled art stones.Once the base is ready i used a resin window as my focal point and arranged die cut leaves and Prima flowers around it.
Inspired by the bubbles in the mood board,i adhered some angel images with help of clear glue to art melange pebbles and placed in few places. Finally i sprinkled a lots of glitters and art ingredients in gold and copper to create the magical feel.
Hope my project inspired you to create something for the challenge.
Thanks for looking,
Kavitha
