Guest Designer & Father Winter

We have a very special mixed media treat for you today. :)
Olga a.k.a. Belladonna agreed to create a special winter project for us.
If you're not familiar with her works, make sure you visit her blog and get ready to fall in love with her creativity.

Hello dear readers,
I would like to show you a frosty canvas depicting Father Winter which I came up for my daughter's request.

She is really into snow these days, so I tried to prepare something to decorate her room.

I started with arranging the background with lace, vintage papers and washi tapes. Then I covered the whole surface with a generous coat of white gesso using a palette knife which offers a dimensional effect.
I added a little bit of vibrant colours and spots by sprinkling the background with mists prepared from watered down Ecoline watercolors and I let them dry. Metallic ones along with some glitter work the best.

Then I started stamping and adding some metal and paper embellishments as well as some natural findings. I added a photo and a banner. More glitter, pearl paints or microbeads are always a good idea. Ready!

Have a happy winter time!
Olga - Beladonna
