Flower pot by Roxane

Dear creative friends

This month I wanted to propose a simple and easy to do project.

With the arrival of spring, I need a new flower pot for my blooming lilac.

I used a bottle and covered it with white gesso and white crackle clay. Some Art stones for that grungy look I like.

I added some string, lace and metal embellishments. Do you know the metal flowers from Finnabair? I love them and use them everywhere.

I also used a small face mould, so vintage.

Colouring is very easy, I used acrylic liquid, my favourite paints for their transparency and pigmentation.

I used Burnt Sienna as a base and then added purple to go with my lilac colour. But with Burnt Sienna you can combine other colours, blue, green, and red. You will have a vintage look and a dominant colour.

Then I added a pebble art to the heart of the flower and painted the background with Iris Potion, a glittery mauve from the Sparks range.

Finally, I used white gesso again on a dry brush and bleached the relief. I love the effect of revealing the details.

I hope I've inspired you to try it too.
