Darianna Neko - July 2018 Guest Designer

Darianna Neko, that is our July Guest Designer, has won April Mixed Media Place challenge. She has prepared gorgeous layout with amazing colours and details! Take a few moments and enjoy her wonderful style!

Hello, dear readers of MixedMediaPlace blog!

My name is Darya (Darianna Neko in social media). I’m very glad to be the Guest Designer at Mixed Media Place - thank you for this opportunity!
I live in Belarus, Minsk and have two little daughters and lovely husband. I have been creating mixed media projects since the Spring of 2017 and so far no other direction of creativity has found such a response in my soul. I love to create canvases and layouts with the photos that inspire me.  Also I love to alter objects using mixed media technique. My love for gloom, gothic style, black color is easy to be noticed in my work.

Contrast, dark colors, darkened edges of works, gloomy subjects of works - this is what people recognize me for. Big thanks for choosing me! I’m happy to be the GD at Mixed Media Place!

July moodboard has so attractive colours. Orange and violet is a good combination!

I also decided to add blue and yellow colours. For this challenge I’ve created  the layout where the main characters are the fantasy mushrooms. Mushroom house is in the middle. You can also see mushrooms on the left and on the right of the LO.

Radial "rays" of circles, stars and other objects come out from the central part of the composition, and that is why I decided to title this project "Burst of the imagination". It turns bright and gloomy, fantastic, with darkened edges, and a little bit psychedelic :)

Let's see the details!

The base of layout is paper “Twilight” from 7 Dots Studio “Hazy Days” collection.  Also I used stamps and die-cuts from this collection. Wors Stickers "Stretch your imagination, professional dreamer" are from "Dreamscapes" collection.

I wanted to do a contrast, so I covered the chipboard with a bright embossing powder . The result was an ombre effect - the transition from black to orange and yellow.

I also added my favorite transparent plastic elements! They give work a lot of details and do not overload it. Stamps "Don't forget to fly" with butterflies from Finnabair and stamps of leaves helped me to do this.

To make this fantastic multicolored background I used magicals from Lindy’s Stamp Gang, stencils and black and white splashes.

As a finishing touch I added Art Stones and black microbeads from Finnabair and black glass spheres.

That's all!  No, I did not any eat mushrooms :) it's just a rush of creativity and imagination :)

Hope you like my layout!:)

Bye!
Darianna
