So here we are - with our last mixed media project this year...
Let's say goodbye to 2014 with an amazing canvas created by Anai.
Happy New Year, everyone!!!
I made another mixed media canvas in an "abstract art" mood. It's not very complicated, but it actually makes me very happy.
So - how do you feel about numbers? ;)
Frankly math is not really my thing... but in a more spiritual way - I believe in signs, special meanings and also my lucky numbers. Some of them are more important than others but they surround me all my life. That's a very good reason to turn them into art, isn't it?

I started with making a background using White Sand Texture Paste and a Transparent Crackle Paint. Then I covered the whole piece with a light coat of Heavy Gesso and divided the whole thing into three parts.
I used a Black Chalkboard Paint to accent the edges and glued down some chipboard numbers (also covered with gesso).
The only thing left to do was to add some colors.
I wanted shiny vibrant colors, so once again I've used my
favorites - Glimmer Mists and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and Twinkling H2Os
paints.
I love playing with colors - mixing them together and creating
something totally new and unique.

Very beautiful.. I think it's a good idea to use numbers that means something to us. Very inspiring, Johanne Lacombe
