Meet Ginger!

Get ready, dear mixed media fans!
We have something absolutely original for you today!
A new member of our Design Team perhaps....? ;)

Hello Sweeties,
today I'd like to introduce you to Ginger.

It’s a small statue I made during a Powertex (a fabric hardener) workshop that I had wanted to do for a long time. I loved it!

To make Ginger’s dress, I mixed the fabric hardener with some Primary Elements.

I used two colors: one for the dress, the other for the lace. After having dipped the fabric in the mixture, I started to fold it around the form. I dried it slowly and at the same time I modelled the dress the way I wanted it to look like.

Then, I added the embellishments that I glued with extra heavy gel medium. The texture of the gel allows the embellishments to stay in place even if they are in a vertical position, like on the dress or the head.

When the fabric and the lace dried, I added some shading with Silks paints. I finish with a light touch of gold wax.

So, how do you like our new Mixed Media friend? ;)
