Life Without Gesso...? ;)

Can you think of anything better than spending time with like-minded souls?
Learning from each other, exchanging inspirations, talking about paper, gesso & paints and lots of laughter - sound perfect, wouldn't you agree?
Linda recreates this atmosphere so beautifully in her today's layout...

Hi there, Linda here today and I would love to share with you a page I made with various mediums from Mixed Media Place.

Brit S. and her friend Linda O.Ø arrange crops twice a year in a town called Egersund (approx. 1-hour drive from my house). There are around 50 girls, creating with paper from 9 in the morning til 11 p.m. There are challenges and prizes but most of all, we get together to feel the energy and to create. There is nothing like being with so many people where everybody has the same interests and is passionate about the same things as you...

I got my inspiration for this page from the colors of the paper. The paper was in a kit we received when we arrived at the crop. A nice gift from the girls and from the shop Brit works for.
I loved the combination of green, yellow and pink and the classes made the paper funky I thought.
The Norwegian text says: "We know how to enjoy ourselves." :)

First, I added some gesso on various parts of the paper and flowers. I had some white Prima flowers and by painting them with gesso I made them more resistant to water. I knew I had some Primary Elements colors that would match the paper perfectly. I mixed Primary Elements with a little bit of water and used a round brush to color the flowers and some parts of the paper.

When everything dried, I added some pink scrap paper and the photo. Finally, the wooden text which I also painted with Primary Elements. A quick and easy page that was lots of fun to make.

Life without gesso is not a perfect life I think  LOL...
