Guest Designer / Gościnna Projektantka - Dorota Dołęga

Today we have great pleasure to welcome our new Guest Designer:

Dzisiaj z ogromną przyjemnością witamy naszego nowego Gościa:

You must know that we have been huge fans of Dorota's art! You absolutely have to visit her blog and take some time to admire her talent.
Her works are very subtle and filled with poetry yet very often they are also charged with powerful emotions.
Her technique is always sophisticated with rich textures, layering and an amazing feel for colour.

We asked Dorota to fill in our little survey (the same one we created for our new Design Team) and here are her answers:

Poprosiliśmy naszego Gościa o wypełnienie małej ankiety (tej samej, w której wziął udział nasz nowy Design Team) i oto jej odpowiedzi:

I live in: Gif-Sur-Yvette, a charming little town in Île-de-France, about 30 km from Paris.

On my desk I always have: gesso, modelling paste, silicone brush, white distress stain, paper from old books, stapler, 3d foam - I use them in almost every work.

My favourite color palette: Blue! I love every single shade of this colour!

My favourite creations: I started paper crafting about three years ago, but for long time I was making mostly cards. This summer I started creating layouts and art journaling - and now I can't stop :)

I'm inspired by: light, colours, textures, photography, literature.

When I create: I create in the meantime, when my children are playing together and I can get some rest... It takes me two or three days to make things that normally would be made in an hour!

When I don't create: I like rock climbing. I read. I write poems (some time ago I used to write a lot, now it's two-three poems a year). I cook. I think about new things to create :)

Cats or dogs? Dogs, I've never trusted cats.

Coffee or tea? I like both but if I have to choose, I'll choose coffee. Cappuccino. There's no life without coffee.

Simplicity or mess? Mess - I can't do anything neat, it's just too difficult...

I dream about: raising my children and help them to become good and sensitive people. Improving my skills. And having fun creating for the rest of my life.

Moja ulubiona paleta kolorystyczna: niebieski we wszystkich możliwych odcieniach :)

Inspiruje mnie: światło, kolory, faktury, fotografie, literatura.

Kiedy tworzę: w międzyczasie, kiedy akurat dzieci dają mi chwilę spokoju... Często kilka dni zajmuje mi zrobienie pracy, która w bardziej sprzyjających warunkach powstałaby w godzinę!

Kiedy nie tworzę: wspinam się. Czytam.

I żeby wciąż sprawiało mi to radość.

We asked Dorota to create artwork especially for Mixed Media Place and just take a look at this amazing wintery journal entry:

Creating these pages I used one of my favourite techniques - whitewashing - with the help of gesso and white Distress Stain.

I created rich layering using a stapler thanks to which the layers are not flat and add some more dimension to the work.

I highlited certain areas with Bolivian Blue Twinkling H2O.

Aby dodać mocniejszy akcent, użyłam farby Twinkling H2O w kolorze Bolivian Blue.

We would like to thank Dorota for visiting Mixed Media Place and sharing her wonderful art and bits of her life with us.
