Mechanical Moon by Lanette Erickson

Hello All You Amazing Creative People!

Today I am sharing my new project with you, a tiny altered MDF Moon. Now even though this is just a tiny little moon approximately six and a half inches, It is full of mechanical goodness! Complete with a tiny shaker pocket watch!

I really didn't have anything in mind when I sat down to create this. I just had Blue and Rust colors stuck in my head. So with those colors in mind I started digging in my stash to see what I could create. After a while of digging I found a few mechicals that I have been hoarding and a tiny moon that I just received from a friend. I started my project with simple layers of texture adding bits of paper and some Graphite Paste through one of my favorite Finnabair stencils. Next added lots of  layers of color with a mix of Finnabair Acrylics. Once I was happy with my base color, I attached my mechanicals. Finally it was time for the lovely Rust color I had stuck in my head.

If you would like to see how this all came together you can check it out over on my YouTube channel just follow the link here:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you in some small way to get a little paint on your hands!

Until next time, Hugs & Have fun creating!
