February 2020 challenge

Hello friends,

Our February moodboard is a mixture of turquoise blue, brown, shades of warm orange and white. This is because usually February is a snowy month and we often dream of moments of warmth spent in front of a fireplace and we tend to spend time with a cup of something hot to drink. And although this year February is different, nothing will stop us from of snow :)

Our design team created projects inspired by our moodboard:

Hi friends!
It's Lisa to share with you my mixed media canvas inspired on our fabulous February moodboard. I love these colors together!

For my project I cutted a lot of elements from AB Studio and Prima Marketing patterned papers.I created the background using cracklè paste, stencil and modelling paste by Finnabair and I made a watercolor effect with Liquid Acrylic Paints. I made my focal point using moulds and resin, and I colored the wings with Mermaid Sparkle and Burnt Sienna liquid paints. I added Prima Marketing flowers and little beads for a touch of shine.

Thanks for stopping by with me!

This month we have a wonderful calm mood board for you to get inspired by! I decided to create freely in my art book.

The blank page in the art journal allows to let it go completely, create with less perfection and more authenticity. I got inspired by the round shapes and the colors on our mood board, and played around with stamps and inks.

Hi dear friends!
February is a month of love, hugs and kisses and we have a wonderful moodboard full of love, dreams, sweetness and warmness.
I've altered a wooden heart as a gift to my friends for Valentine's Day, using beautiful color combo of the moodboard and some elements of it.

I've used White Sand Texture Paste and Golden Nugget Paste to create a texture and painted the base of the heart, clay embelishments and a wooden padlock with Jade and Dark Chocolate Impasto, Light Patina and Stormy Ocean Acrylics.
As a final touch I tinted all the elements with Firebird and Old Silver waxes.

Hello friends!
I was very excited about the palette of our inspiration board and made a new page for my artbook.
I painted Heavy Gesso White watercolor paper. Made a texture using Modeling Paste and Stencil Ornate Lace.

3D Gloss Gel helped me put together all the details of the composition.

Gold Rush paint, Glass Glitter Copper, Mystic Turquoise wax helped me complete the page.

The palette of our board inspired me to create a background for my photos.

I used no longer useful picture in the frame. First I covered the canvas with Heavy Gesso - White.
Then applied Molding Paste through two different stencils: damask patterns and a doily.

Until the paste has dried, on top of it, without removing the stencil, apply Art Alchemy - Opal Magic - Coral-Teal.

In the same way, I mixed the paste and brown spray through the stencil.

As accents, I added a pattern with a paste made from Gloss Gel and gold glitter. The texture was created by rubbing Opal Magic - Rose-Gold

You can add embellishments from molds.

And finally, a little stamping with brown ink, a little bit splashes on the frame.

Now you can take photos of your masterpieces against such a beautiful background
