Hi lovelies,
Georgie here with you today!
I have altered the cover of a Finnabair Journal and I’ve gone for dark and magical again there is something about this look that just fits for this time of year.
Black gesso is one of my all time favourite products because of how it gives depth to projects but also how it lets metallic and shimmers really stand out and shine. So of course this project started with a complete layer of this.
Again, lots of embellies, built up in traditional Finnabair fashion. Started with Scrapiniec pieces to give a woodsy-midnight feel. Then layered the mechanicals on top and gave everything a coat of black again.
The splatters actually came before I applied the colour so it could look like in places they were blending in to the background. Then the waxes came out to play again, I really can’t get enough of these - so easy to produce great results!
Finishing up I used Glitter Glass, Microbeads, Glitters and some sequins. I find this method is great for producing those highlights in in amongst the shadows, that hint of sparkle that makes it feel ethereal.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you find some inspiration to help with your creativity.
Hugs
Georgie
xx
