Altered ship by Marta Piekarczyk

We are in the middle of summer holiday. This year we have spent ours in the mountains, so I wanted to invite a little bit of seaside atmosphere to our home. I have had an old ship, that was boring already. So I decided to alter it.

At the beginning I glued down with hot glue gun lots of shells, sticks, stones. I have made a new sail using yute. I covered everything with white gesso and have added some colors. I have used beautiful ArtAlchemy metallic paints, Color Bloom sprays and metallic powders.

I have added also microbeads, embossing powder, that melted beautifully and glitters.

When everything was dry, I added some gesso accents as a final touch.

  2. Oh, I love this! The color and the crusty effect, like it has been in salt water a very long time.
