Hello :)… and Wow!!!!!
I am so happy to be here, a part of this team, designing, creating and hopefully bringing some inspiration to you!
For my first post I thought I’d share with you one of the ancient-world-style books I love to create. Each ends up with their own story, which is created in my head as I go through the process of making it. This one is called 'Cor Solis’ (latin for 'Heart of the Sun’) and aren’t those new embellishments perfect for the title.
The paper is distressed using a good old fashioned tea bags!
The most essential ingredients were the mediums in this project. The soft gel is perfect for the adhesion of tissue paper and sealing the paper so you can really get to work on it. This just forms the base for everything and anything. Also, the 3D Gel is ideal for not only sticking heavy metal embellishments, but creating texture down the sides of the front. It holds the shape you put it in, use a ‘stippling and pushing’ effect with a small soft brush to put the peaks where you want them.

Absolutely gorgeous book Georgie, I loved the video and watching the cover all come together. Your attention to detail is amazing, all the little textures and colours on the wooden elements to give them the realistic metal look is fabulous, I look forward to seeing more of your stunning mixed media work.
