Creative Gym - Exercise #9

Hello, Mixed Media Artists!
Are you ready for some creative fitness? ;)
We love seeing so many of you joining our Gym! It's always a huge treat to be seeing your artworks inspired by our Exercises and we hope this month you're gona to join our challenge.
This month theme was suggested by Marianne.
It’s all about architecture!

You are free to create any type of works. From altered pieces to journals, cards or tags.

I love houses and everywhere I go I photograph houses. Most of all I love OLD houses like these in my project.

The photo is from Bergen (one of Norway’s largest city, located on the westcoast of Norway) and a tiny street, where we lived a week in a tiny flat some years ago. Charming old house  whith lot of memories in the walls.
The tiny street had houses in several colors as blue, pink and white, but I changed this particulary photo to black/white.

I have used 7Dots Studio 9th Wave “wavy ocean” as my background paper and lots of stencils, stamps and medium.
I used Black Gesso, Prima/Finnabair Texture Paste White Crackle, Prima/Finnabair Heavy Gesso combined with stencils and stamps on the background. Some tape and black Dylusions spray inks as well.

The chipboards are painted with water and Mica Powder Teal.

Oh boy this was a fun challenge! First I thought about doing a layout but then the box from some
Prima embellishments caught my eye and reminded me of a window. With some added cardboard
and embellishments I then created a Gothic style window with the all seeing eye and an angel. The
color scheme is dark, nighty blue inspired by night time when I was making the piece.

One World Trade Center
The One World Trade Center, known as Freedom Tower, is the first skyscraper built on the World Trade Center site . It was complete just before I went there in 2013.

It's a simple page that I want to share with you: I started by gluing some pieces of papers which I covered with esso, then I added a few pieces of Washi tapes. I added a design with a stencil and black Gesso that I applied with a sponge. When dry, I ised my Twinkling H2Os to add some colos. With another stencil, I added some modeling paste.

Time to add some embellishments like thread, flower trim, mechanicals. When done, I continued to add some color with Mica Powders to the flower trim, the page border and some splatters.

To finish the page I added some Glass Glitter and Micro Beads.

I like Paris, Montmartre especially. I love wondering and walking around the street, meeting street artists, admire architectural mirracles of town. I am pretty sure that very impressive Sacré Coeur basilica is one of those architectural pearls.
From here you can see all the aspects of Paris. This is a must see tourist destination. The photo in my journal was taken by me in Paris.

This year I had a chance to visit Goerlitz - German city located on Polish-German border. If you have ever seen "Grand Budapest Hotel" movie (I am a huge fan of it) you surely remember the hotel - wonderful and stunning building. The scenes of this movie were shot mostly there - in Goerlitz. I took a lot of photographs of old and beautiful buildings - the scenery is so magical, because Gorlitz wasn't destroyed during Second World War and there are buildings even from XII century!!

I created a video, so you can see my creative process :) Enjoy :)
