Strong enough

While creating for others magic is happening...
Blooming canvas for someone very special...

Today I have very personal inspiration for you.
I'm still experimenting with a freehand drawing (you still have a time to make a piece for our monthly challenge! here). My flowers are evolving and blooming everywhere :)
This time i wanted to make something very unique and special - a little canvas for my friend, who has a difficult time... I guess creative hobby is a great way to make gifts for our friends and family. In my opinion - there's something so very special and magical in creating art for other people. To make them happy, to make them emotional, to make them feel special and unique...

My canvas is 8x8 inches big. I draw my flowers with black indian ink, covered the whole piece with clear gesso and started coloring. I told you more about this technique in my last post (http://mixedmediaplace.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring-magnets.html).

I usually use all kinds of media for coloring. Stampers Big Brush pens for shadowing, shiny mists (like Glimmer Mists or Lindy's Stamp Gang mist) for all the petals, and Silks paints for accents and smaller surfaces.
I like to combine matt and shiny paints - that makes the flowers more interesting and "dimensional" :)

I especially love Dylusions Ink Sprays - they have amazing and so vibrant colors! And working on canvas actually made it even more interesting. My turquoise "path" was paint with Dylusions spray and after drying I wipe out some of the color with a baby wipe. this way you can see the texture of the canvas. Isn't it just beautiful?

My final step was splashing - as always :) I used Twinkling H2O paint in color "Hunter Gray" - it's a very dark grey - almost black, but with a shiny effect.

I hope you like my canvas.
And I really really hope that it will give a bit of sunshine and a lot of strength and hope to my friend :*
