Love Your Life

Have you got your stamps, sprays and stencils somewhere near?
We are sure today's project will make you want to run to your art table and have some mixed media fun! :)

Hello dear friends!
Athanasia here today to share a small canvas I created. I wanted to make something colorful and happy, so I decided to create a hand-drawn sketch of a typewriter full of flowers and butterflies!

To create this project, first I used a permanent pen and some Prima stamps to make a sketch of a typewriter.
Then I cut with scissors some beautiful patterns and a lot of butterflies from a prima paper and glued them here and there to make a collage.

After that, I used Finnabair's 'Weaving' stencil with Art Basics Light Paste to create some interest on the background and applied some 'Vintage Photo' Distress Ink all over the canvas.

Then, it was time to focus on the composition. I used Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color the dawned buttons of the typewriter and some watered down gesso to color the black paper around them.
After some more stamping, I started to glue all the flowers, butterflies and other embellishments. For the final touch I used Ecoline watercolors and LSG sprays to color here and there and make some splashes.

One more thing I did and had a lot of fun with, was putting some wire around the Prima bulb and using the same wire to hang some sticker letters on it in order to create the dimensional tittle. I really love how it turned out!

That's all for today, until next time!
Have a lot of crafty fun!

  1. Heheheh - that is the cutest thing I ever saw!!! I learned to type on one just about like that. Speed drills and all. I think I would have enjoyed learning to type much more if my typewriter had looked like yours though!!!! GORGEOUS. Thanks bunches for starting my day off with a big smile Athanasia. j.

  2. It's true that a typewriter can turn out words just as beautiful as a garden but have never seen anyone do a page like this before that shows it. This is beautiful and says so much without even journaling. WOW!
