Today we'd like to show you another great gift idea.

Three charming ideas, as a matter of fact. :)

Today, I have three different projects I want to show you.

I've used one sheet of pattern paper from 7Dots Studio for all the projects.

The first project I made was a paper bag. I thought it could be a perfect gift bag for chocolate.

The stamp is in Norwegian and it is about chocolate.

The second project is a 6"x6" birthday card made out of cardstock.

The third is a handmade book. I glued the paper onto cardboard and put something heavy onto it until it was dry. I then made the book using this perfect tutorial on how to bind a book.
When the book was made, I decorated the front cover to fit the two cards.

I started all these three projects by first covering some parts of the paper with masking tape, mesh and then white gesso to get some extra texture. When dry, I painted with both acrylic paint and spray. I even made some splashes with watercolor.

When the pattern paper was cut into the sizes I needed, I added some stamping with Archival Coffee and Prima background stamp. I distressed the edges and used some white chalk ink and gesso.

All three projects have some of the same embellishments: cheese cloth, doily, fabrics, sequin waste and hemp thread.

So there you have either 3 separate gifts or one big gift all together.

Speaking From the Heart

Hello. I’m sharing an art journal page with you today.

Aside from speaking from the heart and sharing my thoughts (which of course is what art journals are for), these pages are all about the stamps. I have always loved using them, but once upon a time, stamps were pretty much the sole domain of card makers. Today, with the love for “mixed media”, stamps are used by everyone. For scrapbook pages, stamps mostly hang about in the background, but today in my journal, I’ve made the stamps the focus.

These particular stamps by Dina Wakley, available from Mixed Media Place store, I found to be very expressive and they suited my mood. I’ve also used stamps from 3rd Eye and several from Finnabair’s range.

The colour in this work comes mostly from Prima’s Color Bloom spray mists. Oh, how I love them, particularly “Gold Foil”. Can you see it in the photo below?

The tag has many layers of Color Bloom sprays... I think 5... The colours are very pure and rich and work beautifully with stencils. I did not let each colour dry completely before adding the next one which has created a very soft, subtle blended appearance and the tag almost feels like it’s been varnished.

When the tag is flipped over, the second face is revealed and the mood has changed.

The tears will never stop falling until the guns stop shooting.

Hello. Today, I'd like to present a dress that was inspired by poetry of a Polish poet, Rafał Wojaczek.

Technically, this piece was very easy to make.

My base for the dress is a paper mache shape formed on a Barbie doll. I used pieces of a newspaper soaked in glue to create the skirt.

After the glue dried, I used gesso applied with a soft brush to fix the whole dress. When it dried and the dress was hard, I painted it with acrylic paints. Finally, I added some frills and some glimmer with this mist.

For the background, I applied a thick layer of gesso on a piece of cardboard and stamped this circle shape into the gesso.

When dry, I painted the background with the same paints I used for the dress.

The little houses I placed on my dress I created out of thick cardboard. I glued pieces of newspaper onto them, then added some touches of white acrylic paint and distressed them with distress inks.

Finally, I glued the dress onto the background with the magic glue.

I hope you like my dress. Creating it was really that complicated, maybe you will give it a try and create your own?
