Magnolia Poetry

Well... We simply can't resist...
Our whole Design Team is intoxicated with Spring... :)
Come and enjoy some gorgeous Magnolia poetry...

Hello Sweeties,

I would like to share with you a new layout I made for Mixed Media Place.

I photographed this magnolia in my garden.
Magnolias are among the first flowers to blossom in Spring.

For my base I used paper from the latest 7 Dots Cold Country collection.
As always, to create my background, I added some modeling paste, here it's a crackle paste, some Twinkling H2O paints, some stamping and some splatters of black gesso and Gold Izink.

I lightly colored the paper mini roses that come in silver color with the Wine & Roses Twinkling H2O.
(btw, notice the names of the Twinklings I used: Wine&Roses, Ginger Flower, Wisteria, Black Orchid - welcome to my paint garden! ;) )

All the embellishments (including the ones from Mechanicals collection) were glued with Extra Heavy Matt Gel Medium.

Happy Spring, everyone!

Spring Is In the Air!

Spring is here to stay. Can you feel it, too? :)
Yet another reason to celebrate and create some mixed media magic!

Hi, everyone!
My project this month is a card. A card to celebrate Spring, well... in the northern hemisphere anyway...
I have felt my projects of late have been a bit "gloomy" so I wanted to use colors and flowers and make something "pretty".

The background is made up of paper strips, sponged on Distress Ink and then water misted.

I applied an embossed doily stamp as well as other stamps. In all, I used five different stamps on the front of the card; all of them from Finnabair's fabulous range.

I added some blossoms, also coloured with Distress Ink, and some more textural embellishments.
More embossed doily on the inside and a little bird (cut out of a paper napkin) to chirp a happy message.

Happy Spring, everyone!

Everything Was In Her Hands

We can always count on Tusia to deliver some heartwarming message!
Her art journals are filled with beautiful affirmations. Just take a look...

I believe that we can create our life.
I believe that if we follow our dreams, they become reality. "Everything was in her hands" is an art journal page in a round robin journal of my friend.

The woman was drawn on watercolor paper, cut out and glued down on the journal page. I used Watercolor Pencils, pencil, white Sharpie Pen, Illumination 7 Dots Studio paper, Gelatos, Pitt Pens.

The background was created using many different media - the list is at the end of the blog post.

I love the watercolor effect and I used Gelatos and Stamper's Big Brush Pens.

Thank you for visiting Mixed Media Place blog.
