Summer of the childhood by Arantzazu

 Hi evryone!!

Today I want to share with you my new art journal page  dedicated to the summers of my childhood.
I remember those eternal summers in which the days seemed to have more than 24 hours and each day was a new adventure! I have to say that I live in a small town and it was close to the mountain so we imagined corridors and corners that had to be explored! It was very exciting!

For this page I did not want to use a lot of texture and layers, just a template with rust-effect pastes, a bit of paper texture paste and some details to focus on the main theme.
You can see a step by step below.

I hope you like it!

Happy Summer by Arantzazu

July begins, it's summer and new adventures begin!

I have altered this notebook to write down and describe everything that happens this summer!

I have used different texture pastes for the background, black gesso, graphite paste, different stone pastes ... and then I have added some color with Lindy´s sprays and Finnabair waxes.

Feel invited to watch step-by-step video, I prepared for you:

I hope you like it!
Happy Summer!

June challenge

Hello friends,
The temperatures are very high and the whole Europe suffers with heat, but our current moodboard is the opposite - it brings shadow of the forest, dampness of the moss, coolness of foggy morning. It is a relief for our eyes too, since green colour has healing abilities. Be inspired by our moodboard's freshness, find a spot in a shadow, grab a glass of cool water and let your imagination take you on a journey.

Our design team created projects inspired by our moodboard:

I have enjoyed this moodboard so much, I have used almost all the colors and I have composed each layer of my project.

I started with a layer of black gesso and then adding a color on each layer to create a bit crazy composition. Maybe a little too crazy but I love colours.

Hi friends! With photos of our July moodboard I fantasized about ordinary moments, moments that happen every day and which we often don't notice. But sometimes we are stopping and suddenly feeling happy, watching how the sun shines beautifully through the branches, how dewdrops amazingly sparkl or how shadows wonderfully interlace on the wall .
And my work about one of such thousand moments. About the moment when you stopped and felt how beautiful life is around!

Lovely products from Mixed Media Place store are helped me to create this work. I used Heavy Gesso Clear as a protect and a base. Then I added Modeling paste through stencil on the frame and covered it with acrylic paint Pitch Black. After that, I applied Dark Forest acrylic paint and a little bit of Impasto paint Mint mixed with water. Dried it well and added Bronze Age wax. At the end I added embossing powder.

I colored up frame inside with alcohol ink, added moss and created composition using photo of the boy, different paper elements, chipboard and metal embellishments. A some elements I covered with different texture paste with rust effect and added embossing powder again. As a title of my work I chose word sticker by 7 Dots Studio "Live your dream" and word on russian that translate as "Happiness".

Hello everyone! Our June Mood board is so beautiful with deep green and teal colors. I decided to make an altered brush with "Forest Fairy". I used Finnabair`s mould to create the shape of my Fairy and a pair of Tim Holtz wings. Some natural sticks and floral chipboard pieces are a good fit for the theme.

Wish you happy crafting, Nadya.

Today I’d like to show you my new project with Mixed Media Place Moodboard. This time I was inspired by the forest using natural elements.

I covered the base in the shape of medallion with white gesso from Finnabair. Next using Heavy Body Gel I glued dry sticks and pieces of wood. Larch cones, a bit of sisal, a piece of a thick rope and some hdf elements as leaves, small flowers and inscription ‘flourish’.

I only slightly painted the liquid acrylic paint. Then, some elements again I covered with white gesso. At the end I splashed everything with white and black paint mixed with water. I also used Finnabair stamp, which you also will find in the MMP store.

Have a nice day,
Kasia Salmanowicz
