Hello beautiful creative people,

I’m up on here today with my inspirational piece for September. I do hope you like… :)

I have so missed this style of mixed media and couldn’t wait to get my hands mucky with this project! It is an old clock with the inner section and clock face taken out.

Some Modelling Paste was used to first to lay down some texture along with Mini Art Stones scattered on top. Then a healthy layer of Black Gesso. It’s worth two coats for something like this.

I also applied a layer of Copper Crackle in places. And of course had to wait patiently for it to dry naturally (it gives the vest results!).

Then I started to build up Modelling Paste under the centre of the Relic piece to give it height and applied the embellishments. Then gave it all another coat of Black Gesso.

After that was complete I used some of those oh-so-gorgeous Art Alchemy Waxes in shades Lucky Emerald, Green Brocade and Vintage Gold. They rub on so smooth and application for laying down colour or highlights is so easy, and the smell… Wow every time I walk past this piece it smells heavenly filling the room!

Finishing up I used Glitter Glass, Mica Flakes and Micro Beads to add extra highlights and texture. They’re perfect for catching this odd fragments of light and reflecting it back. Giving that magical feel extra oomph!!

Hope this has helped spark some creativity!

Big hugs,
Georgie

  2. What a stunning project, Georgie - straight out of a fairy tale or hidden away in the Secret Garden. Just magical!
