Hi! My name is Karolina Czajkowska, I'm 26 and I live in Poland. In a daily life I'm an architect, but architecture wasn't enough to express my artist soul. I started my scrapbooking adventure 4 years ago. I love all areas of scrapbooking but definately my favourite style is mixed media. It's the best way for me to express myself and to make something extraordinary from common things. I'm so exciting and so happy to be a guest designer at Mixed Media Place!

Today I would like to show you a layout with a nice photo of my godson. I have used two papers from 7 dots studio for my base and then I built my high composition on it. To secure my papers I used clear gesso I don't know how could I live without it! Prima clear gesso is perfect. It's transparent and matte.

I added some texture on my backgroud with modeling paste through the stencils. To give my paste a color, I added two colors of primary elements pigment to it. When my composition was finished I took a coffee, color bloom sprays and the same pigments to make some nice stains around everything.

Here are detailed photos:

Ok, so that's all. Hope you like it. Have a nice days guys :)

Remember This by Tanya Palamarchuk

Hello everyone!
Tanya here.
I made LO with my favorite paper by 7 dots Studio! At this time I worked with Soulmates Collection.

I have a few photo of process.
1. I choose clear photo and paper from Soulmates Collection

2. I combined it with another piece of paper from this collection, the torn one.

3. I love stickers and die-cut so I have added them to different parts of the background.

4. Time to create some texture!
I used TCW stencil and texture paste with sand

Some black stamping, a few embellishments and my project is done!

September challenge - moodboard

This month challenge is about black and white.

You can create anything you want - a tag, a layout, a card, an off-the-page project, a card, an ATC, an art-journal spread, a canvas and many more - just be inspired by our quote and put our challenge banner in your blogpost showing your entry.

Here is an inspiration delivered by our fabulous team:

Hi!!! For this moodboard, I created a small magnetized plate. 1st layer is gesso black, then a fine layer of gesso white on reliefs, then a light touch of Purple (mica powder) in upper, right corner!!! And a little bit of acrylic paint, Art Alchemy "steampunk copper" here and there for the finishing touch!!! And it's done. I created a paradise!!!!!

Greetings!

I was so inspired by the darkness of this moodboard! I wanted to create intuitively - meaning paint without thinking too much about what I would do next or what the end result would be. I love to do this every once in a while to shake things up and rediscover things. I find it really allows me to paint from within!

To start, I used a wooden canvas and layered with black gesso. Then for texture, I layered black modeling paste through Finn's doily stencil with a palette knife. I love using stencils and modeling paste for extra texture. From there, I used acrylic paint to paint whatever my heart wanted to and used Finn's double-sided texture brushes to create amazing texture in the paint. In the end, I have a painting pretty different from anything I might normally make -- and found that it's quite fun to step outside of my comfort zone and not allow myself to pre-plan anything.

Hello Dear Friends:) I love our September Challenge as it challenged me with the colour palette ;) I love turquoise and pink and here I am with my black and white canvas:) I used mainly grey Ecoline paint and black art sugar and of course my beloved art stones;) Teddy bear is my own graphic which you can get in my Etsy shop;) Enjoy!

This month board inspired me to create such a motivator, which I called "Improvisation on the canvas." The basis of it is the canvas in a roll, which I covered with different pastes and paints. And I was pleased by the result.

Today I wanted to give some texture to my page. I love 3D  effect and Mixed Media. The Prima Finnabair products are excellent for extra effects.
